What material works best for your figures ?
Fondant is a kind of sugar paste and edible (except a few non edible supporting materials inside for some cases) and scents are really nice and sweet. If you are after edible cake toppers, look no further. Fondant is your choice! Meanwhile if you are after a keepsake, clay is much durable and perfect to keep after your event. More comparison here.
How long can the figures last to be displayed at home?
Our polymer clay and air-dry clay products are completely sealed with a special coating and can be kept for nearly forever under good conditions, while fondant figures are subject to colour fading or deforming being exposed to the sun, hear, or moist. If being kept in a cool dark place, fondant can last for many years, or alternatively you may also like to have your fondant figure being coated with quality topcoat such as resin. This way, both clay and coated fondant can stay in an excellent condition many years.
How do fondant and clay figure look different?
Other than the fact that fondant is the edible material while clay is for the keepsake, fondant toppers are rather large in volume, and a bit roundish, fatter and smooth on surface, while clay products carry stylish and rather sharpy finish with more details, especially more precise drawing patterns.
What coatings are available and how durable can the figures be?
We have aclyric paint sealant for light protection, which are mainly applied on caketoppers and display figures. This option is not as protective as resin coating, thugh you can benefit from opting your most most suitable coatings as in Gloss, Satin and Matt finishes.
If your main porpose is for displaying, this is the perfect option. On the other hand, I resin coating is recommended for keychains and accessories that are mainly carried along or worn in daily settings. Resin is super protective, crystal clear, and highly glossy in finish, unless additional matt layer is applied on top.
Is it safe to post figures in a mail?
Uncoated fondant figures are at the highest risk of breakage as fondant are only made with sugar plus additions. However we are very confident in transporting these items in a box filled with cusions, then crated with thick card board all around, and either bauble wrapped in a padded envelopes, or alternatively even double boxed with additional filling between the 2 boxes. This way the figures would not receive any pressure or force during the transportation.
