At Minime on the Cake, we offer two material options for our custom figurines: sugar paste and polymer clay. Each has its own unique charm and purpose—whether you want an edible centrepiece or a keepsake that lasts forever.

🍭 Sugar Paste Toppers (Edible)

Our original and best-selling option, these cake toppers are handcrafted from fondant or modelling paste and are entirely edible. With their sweet scent and soft, rounded appearance, they’re perfect for special occasions like birthdays and weddings. Some people enjoy eating the topper, while others prefer to keep it as a cute memento—either way, it’s a conversation piece!

✘ Cons: ➖ Sensitive to humidity ➖ Colour may fade under sunlight ➖ Fragile – prone to breakage or deformation over time

Storage Tip:If kept in a cool, dry, and dark place, sugar toppers can last for months or even years as a keepsake.

🎁 Polymer Clay Toppers & Gifts (Non-Edible)

Made from oven-baked polymer clay, these toppers are designed to be durable keepsakes. They are ideal for display, gift items, or accessories. We apply a resin glaze for extra durability (scratch resistance and shine) or a polyurethane sealant for colour protection on display pieces.

✔ Pros: ➕ Highly durable – can last a lifetime ➕ Sharp, defined details ➕ Smooth finish with resin or polyurethane coating ➕ Resistant to fading, deformation, or damage ➕ Ideal for gifts and long-term display

✘ Cons: ➖ Non-edible (no sweet scent) ➖ Smaller in volume than sugar paste pieces ➖ Slightly higher material and production costs
