Opening Live Performance
- Japanese Ink Art (Sumi-e)
Your journey begins with a Live Sumi-e (ink wash painting) Performance by Masayo, that sparks creativity and focus. Immerse yourself in a captivating performance designed to center your focus and set the tone for the afternoon.
Artist Feature - Masayo Colley
Masayo is a Japanese artist, specialising in the Japanese art of ink brush painting, and is especially drawn to the expressive movement and beauty of brush and black ink. Inspired by both Impressionism and Japonism, she seeks to create a unique fusion of Eastern and Western styles through her art.

Workshop - Make a gift to take home
Following the performance, guests will move into their chosen creative activity for 75 minutes of hands-on making. No prior crafting experience is needed. With easy-to-follow guidance, each guest will create something truly beautiful to take home. Meet the artists
A curated collective of Japanese artists and makers sharing their unique creative practices, inspired by mindfulness, craftsmanship, and contemporary Japanese aesthetics.

Asuka
Based in Sydney, I create upcycled plastic accessories using plastic bottle caps. By repurposing discarded plastics, I aim to prevent them from flowing into the ocean and give them new life. My goal is to design pieces that are colorful yet elegant, offering unique and one-of-a-kind accessories for the modern woman who appreciates individuality.
Each piece is carefully handmade, with every design showcasing its own distinct color combination. I hope that by wearing these accessories, the everyday lives of those who choose them will be brightened just a little. Every piece is crafted with love and attention to detail.

Satoko
After studying wedding floristry in Sydney and working in the floral section of a house wedding company in Japan, she began exploring ways to create long-lasting floral arrangements after hearing customers say they loved flowers but struggled with maintenance and short lifespans.
Through experimentation, she developed vibrant dried flower arrangements that retain their beautiful colours, and began sharing them through sales and workshops. Now a mum of two young boys, she regularly hosts relaxed floral workshops where guests can freely enjoy arranging flowers in their own personal style.

Rie
I discovered the charm of sugar doll art while creating a cake topper for my own child’s 2nd birthday. Inspired by the idea of creating personalised miniature figures, I launched an online store and has sold over 800 handmade pieces over the past eleven years.
Today, alongside custom figurines and clay creations, I also hosts regular in-person workshops for both adults and children at the home studio.
Through sculpting with sweet-scented materials, I hopes to share the relaxing joy of handmade creativity — where even imperfect shapes become uniquely beautiful.
